As previously mentioned, I’ve been operating under a whole world of performance and action.

One meme that hit me recently was this one:
I’ve got a lot of bullshit stories… (Picture c/o The Idealist)
It reminded me of what it took to accomplish my novel.
In 2004, I came up with the idea for “Gets?”. It started out with a few inside jokes (with my then partner at the time, Tina). I produced about 2 chapters that summer and I gave myself a deadline. June 2010.
Over the course of 5 years, I sporadically accomplished another 5 chapters.
I missed the deadline.
In that moment, it became apparently obvious. If I don’t finish this now, I won’t ever finish it.
3 months, around 20 chapters and several bottles of hard liquor later –  I finished “Gets?”.
That’s all it really took. Action. It doesn’t matter if you are motivated, inspired, under pressure, under the influence, it’s all really just action that produces results.
So in that realm, I promise this year and the rest of my life is a commitment to breakthrough actions and breakthrough results. I will not settle for the ordinary.
By the end of this year, I’m finishing one more book. And if you want my other commitments you can ask me on Facebook.
